Feature Second-Hand Book

The Life & Revelations of St Gertrude
by St Gertrude the Great
$10.00 + P+P (Shop soiled with some discolouring on the edges)
N.B. only $8.00 if purchased with a rosary.

This book, written in the Middle Ages, is a must have if one has a special place in his or her heart for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

My rosaries, chaplets, rosary bracelets, and one-decade pocket rosaries are hand made. It takes around two hours or more to make a rosary.

Hand made rosary beads and chaplets are stronger than the usual machine-made rosaries  that are generally available in New Zealand, and which tend to break fairly

easily, especially in the hands of children.

The majority of my rosaries are made from 6mm glass/crystal or hematite beads. These last are a best seller and make a most suitable rosary for a man.

For adults, I use chain or bows between the decades and Pater beads. For children, please request rosaries with bows, as they are much stronger.

Although I don't have photos of all my rosaries, I have dozens of rosaries available, ready-made. Please Email me with any requests or questions.

Recently I was asked for a hematite rosary with 8mm beads and a larger crucifix. I am happy to make rosaries using specific beads as requested, as long as they are available.

A beautiful broken rosary, which I turned into four rosary bracelets for a fellow parishioner reminded me why I originally started to make rosaries. . . to make attractive, yet strong, rosaries for children

There are varying costs for the beads, the crucifix, the center medal and the wire, and the supplies get more expensive every year. The beauty is that hand-made rosaries, with normal care, can last a lifetime. My own rosary was purchased 38 years ago and I have only had to replace a lost crucifix.

Crucifixes and medals are usually pewter. The wire is silver (or gold-covered) jewellery wire although I sometimes also use 22 or 24 gauge stainless steel wire for stronger childrens' rosaries.

I also have a large number of second-hand Catholic books which I will be offering for sale when I get the time to list them. If you have a particular request, Email to see if I have it available.
